Sichuan pepper also known as Szechuan pepper produces a tingling, numbing effect due to the presence of hydroxy-alpha sanshool in the peppercorn.

Despite its name, Szechuan pepper belongs to Rutaceae family which includes citrus. We have infused it with salt for a milder yet still pungent flavour.

It's great on steak and if you don't eat meat it is amazing on grilled portobello mushrooms and a great additon to seitan (gluten meat)
